Microsoft Knowledge Base - Microsoft maintains a searchable knowledge base that allows you to
find known issues and possible resolutions - Warning: this can get highly technical at times.
Virus information can be found at a number of different vendor websites, including Computer
AVG provides free antivirus/antispam software for non-commercial use. You can download the
TechRepublic has numerous technical tips and tricks along with a searchable index.
ComputerWorld also has a searchable index with articles about technology as well as helpful hints
and tips. It tends to push an ad at you each time you use it but that ad is easily closed.
LinkedIn is a business oriented social networking site. If you are interested in learning more about

Google Chrome is a new generation web browser. If you are experiencing problems with Internet
Explorer, you might consider trying Chrome.
FireFox is another alternative to using Internet Explorer. Clients have found that using FireFox to
be extremely useful. It has a number of add ons that you can download for free that allow you to
customize your Internet Experience.
Free email accounts are provided by a number of different vendors including Microsoft Hotmail,

Google Docs (currently a Beta version but free) provides an excellent way to store documents on
line and have them accessible from multiple computers.
There are a number of on-line backup services including several that provide a limited amount of
free storage. Mozy provides up to 2GB of free on line backup space. We have successfully used
ibackup as part of a backup strategy that we have implemented for clients.
